Living in cramped spaces can really be a tough situation to deal with. Small spaces tend to give us a confined and uncomfortable feeling and it is also known that the condition of your environment can have a positive or negative effect in your life. These few simple, strategic changes to your living spaces can make changes in your mood and other aspects of your life as well.

1. Curtains: Using curtains that match or is a shade of the color
the walls are painted would trick the eye to see the room larger than it
really is. Keep in mind that light colors are a lot more effective than dark colors in creating the illusion of space. Also, mounting the curtain rod close to
the ceiling rather than at the top of the window frame can visibly help in
increasing the size of a room.
2: Furniture: If you know you have small spaces, having too many pieces of furniture can make it look even smaller than it is but using larger furniture can also take up all the space you have. The key to balancing this is to use larger pieces of multi-functional furniture's so that they serve more than one purpose. Another trick is to use sofas/armchairs that have raised legs which helps in creating a sense of spaciousness.
3: Windows:Windows
easily enlarge a small room. If you have a nice view, you can place pieces of
furniture that match the color of the view, that way they unify and make your
spaces bigger. Also, setting a mirror crosswise over from a window is the most ideal approach to reflect light and make the room feel extensive.
4:Colors/Light: It is all about optical illusion. It is a large
known reality that light colors make a room look bigger and brighter. On the
other hand, dark colors absorb light, making a room look smaller. That’s why Light
and brightly colored walls are more reflective making a space feel open and
airy, which helps maximize the effect created by natural light. Never forget
that brighter rooms look greater and all the more welcoming.
